They exchanged looks for a split second – one last time.

One of them was a fallen night, once brave and famous but now condemned for an act of treason – raising voice against the king’s rule, speaking for people.

The other was the king himself – whose words gave birth to rules, who crushed every possibility of someone succeeding him at his feet.

It didn’t take time for the true meaning of fear to sink in. Just that it told a different story to each when they exchanged looks for one last time.

The knight felt death was near but not the end. The king saw his future – there will be others following footsteps of the knight. No matter what no king rules forever.

The king was shaken when his men took away the knight, who was smiling calmly.
